This Privacy Policy explains how TypeSafe ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our bilingual writing assistant, browser extension, and web dashboard available at https://typesafe.top (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1) Information We Collect
- Account Data: Name and email collected during sign-in (e.g., Google OAuth) to create and manage your account, synchronize preferences, and communicate with you.
- Subscription & Billing: Payment details (processed by third-party payment processors) when you subscribe to a paid plan. We do not store full payment card information.
- Writing Activity: Text you type may be processed to deliver grammar checks and rewrites. In Local Mode, processing happens on your device and text does not leave it. In Cloud Mode, text is processed transiently and not stored.
- Preferences & Dictionaries: Custom dictionaries, settings, and style rules you save in your account.
- Usage & Device Data: Browser/device type, app version, performance logs, error reports, and anonymized usage metrics (e.g., words corrected, feature usage). We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, and remembering preferences.

2) How We Use Information
- Provide the Service: Deliver corrections, rewrites, bilingual detection, custom rules, and synchronization across devices.
- Account & Billing: Manage subscriptions, trials, payments, invoices, and support requests.
- Improve & Secure: Monitor performance, fix bugs, prevent abuse, and enhance quality with aggregated and anonymized metrics.
- Communication: Send onboarding tips, product updates, security notices, and changes to this Policy. You can opt out of non-essential messages.

3) Data Sharing
- We do not sell your data. We share information only with vetted vendors who help us run the Service (e.g., hosting, authentication, payments, analytics) under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Text processed in Cloud Mode is not stored; vendors only process it to return results.

4) Your Choices & Controls
- Mode Selection: Switch between Local Mode (on-device processing) and Cloud Mode (server processing without storage).
- Cookies: You can disable cookies in your browser, though core features like login may stop working.
- Access, Update, Delete: Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data. You can remove personal dictionaries and settings from your account at any time.
- Opt-Out: You may opt out of non-essential communications; essential service and security notices will still be sent.

5) Data Retention
- Account, billing, and preference data are kept while your account is active and as required for legal, tax, or security obligations. Text processed in Cloud Mode is not retained.

6) Children's Privacy
- The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can delete it.

7) Security
- We use industry-standard security measures, encryption, and OAuth authentication. No system is perfectly secure, so please use strong passwords and keep your devices protected.

8) International Use
- Your data may be processed in regions where our providers operate, subject to appropriate safeguards.

9) Updates to This Policy
- We may update this Policy to reflect product, legal, or security changes. We will post updates here and notify you of significant changes by email or in-app notice.
